I honestly have started this post so many times and can't say what I wanted to say let alone explain it in words. Wedding days are emotionally and physically taxing on me and every wedding I take away the most beautiful moments and a beautiful stories to be told. Alison and Julian’s story is so intertwined, each and every part of their story makes for the bigger picture. Their wedding on the Gold Coast at the Hilton Hotel was nothing short of emotional and beautiful.
Julian had his three daughters as groomswomen (made up a new word), the bond they have is unbreakable and beautiful to see. Julian contented with his life and having his daughters had not even thought about dating until that is, meet Alison. Alison and Julian's first contact was child hood play together in Julian's best friends pool. That childhood memory captured on camera was gifted to Julian via a set of cuff links on the day of the wedding. They had invited their closest friends and family to a packed to the rafters wedding at the sweet little St Margaret’s Chapel at the Gold Coast Arts centre. Alison wore her mothers veil, the very one she wore to the marriage of Alison’s late father, Alison had her two uncles relay style walk her to the alter and one of her uncles was the twin brother to her father’s. We went to the beach for photos not where Alison and Julian sat on the park bench where they had their first date, there was some debating over if it was their first date or just the first time they shared a beer together.
During the speeches Alison's mum held the hand of her late husbands twin brother, he couldn't hold back the tears, in particular when his niece and twin sister to Alison ( yes Alison is a twin too) couldn't say what she wanted to say, so played the song by Tracey Chapman "The Promise” The lyrics resinated the words she wanted to say. Julian's eldest daughter stood up and spoke from the heart, describing the love and connection she has with her father and how his sadness had rubbed off on her, that is until Alison was introduced and how all their spirits were lifted by this beautiful caring person who had stolen her dads heart. Alison and Julian's first dance was accompanied by a slideshow of images of her late father and their family growing up. Julian invited the important men in Alison's life to step forward for a dance.
Alison and Julian’s wedding day at the Hilton Hotel Gold Coast was a rollercoaster day of emotional stories, love and happiness I hope you enjoy
