The iconic Bunnings hat made an appearance at Robert and Joellen's wedding at Glengariff Historical Estate, it was hot enough for it! My first wedding for the year and it was a treat to be hanging with these beautiful people.

Here's a little bit about Joellen and Robert and their wedding day at Glengariff Estate

The Proposal

Rob actually did really well with the proposal! It was the first night of a week-long sailing trip around Moreton Bay. After a long day of sailing we were anchored off the beach enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set when he pulled out a ring. He had some lovely words to go with it and I was overwhelmed, overjoyed, happy and excited all in one. The best part was that we still had the rest of the holiday to celebrate before returning home.

In planning your wedding at Glengariff Estate

We decided to hold the ceremony and the reception at Glengarrif Historic Estate in King Scrub. As soon as we saw the view from the balcony we were sold on the location as a wedding venue. Channing and Bryce were so easy to work with during the planning phase and all the staff were brilliant on the day. The place looked beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious!

Although we were expecting warm weather the heat wave that descended on the day of our wedding was pretty intense. Our initial ceremony location and our backup ceremony location would have both been too hot, especially for the guys and guests in suits. There was a last minute decision to bring the ceremony downstairs into the reception area where the air-conditioning was pumping. Turned out to be a very good decision in the end! The heat did ease up a bit in the afternoon as the breeze came in and we were able to venture outside for some wines and a few photos.

Any advice for future couples?

It is certainly true that the day goes past very quickly. Its cliché but try and enjoy the day as it comes.
